Milton Keynes is proud to present PlayBall! back for its final year in 2002. PlayBall! is a league set up for children aged 9-12 years old. The league will run for approximately 10 weeks, culminating in a Mini World Series that is to be played on the weekend of July 13th/14th. This is made possible thanks to help from Major League Baseball. Major League Baseball and BaseballsoftballUK work together to promote youth baseball in this country. The aim of Major League Baseball is to in three years have helped set up Play Ball! in the Milton Keynes area, so that it will run itself, to help install baseball in Milton Keynes. At present we have two senior team, called the Milton Keynes Rebels and The Bucks. Our hope is that we can bring new talent into the senior team through the ranks of PlayBall! and Pitch, Hit and Run, which is run through the schools with the kids competing in a national tournement in London. As we are in our third and last year of PlayBall, our aim to continue next year with a pony league for the children. If you are interested in either joining, our Play Ball! you can find us at Woughton Playing Fields, Monday evenings 6.00 7.30 p.m. from April 22nd 2002. If you would like any more information regarding our senior team, Milton Keynes Rebels, or Academy, then please email Rob Norris direct on nixon@timso1.freeserve.co.uk.
